What if most people don't want to know the truth when it's uncomfortable or forces them to question their worldview?

What if the average person is a follower, not a leader?

What if most people value comfort and convenience more than truth and freedom?

What if it is easy to control and manipulate people because of these facts?

Just think about the stimulus checks everyone's getting right now, and the idea of universal income and then consider Maslow's hierarchy of needs. If they can keep everyone's lowest level basic needs met, people will tolerate and accept anything and never revolt.
