Technology and the Inevitable Entropy of Mankind

Technology and the Inevitable Entropy of Mankind by Matthew Edward Hayward on 14 June 2010  Technology and the Inevitable Entropy of Mankind What would your life be like without modern-day technologies? Would you be happier and better off without the distraction of cell phones and televisions, or would the quality of your life be lessened with the absence of them? My goal is to take you down a path comparing and contrasting morality and culture in correlation to the progression of technological advancements and the convenience they bring. Most importantly we are going to look at how information and the ability to access it has changed. As we look into the complexities of technology and its effects, we quickly come across the subject of globalization. Society has many different views on the New World Order, commonly referred to by its acronym, NWO. Multinational corporations have their view, collectivists have theirs and then you have technocrats. We are ...

Critical Review of 'We Live in Public'

Critical Review of 'We Live in Public' by Matthew Edward Hayward around 2010 Josh Harris said it best in his documentary, We Live in Public: “The internet is like this new human experience; at first, everyone is going to like it, but there will be a fundamental change in the human condition. One day, we are all going to wake up and realize we are all servants; it’s captured us.” I have felt and seen this truth, my truth, since I was in seventh grade. I wrote a paper about technology surpassing humanity. It was about how uncivilized and barbaric mankind is. I made an argument that Indigenous people were far less barbaric than those who wore power suits and used government and courts to destroy lives and resources and create massive economic inequalities in the name of philanthropy. I wrote about how, thanks to technology, our capabilities are far greater than our understanding of the application of our actions. “Technology is advancing quickly, yet man is evolv...

Government Bureaucracy at Work

Government Bureaucracy at Work By Matthew Edward Hayward on Monday, October 8, 2012 This morning while waiting for my boss to show up and tell us what the plan for the week is, my co-worker and I made a list of things we need around the shop. Mostly items like hand soap, trash bags, extra. In past years I was given authority to make small purchases like this myself, not anymore. Now because of the new guidelines I am being asked to follow, my co-worker and I first went and talked with the procurement officer, then spent the rest of the day researching information on the products, talking with our boss and his boss, only to finish the day by sending an email back to the procurement officer with an itemized list of products we need and where we found them. At the end of the day we still don’t have any of the things we needed and in order to save a few cents on a couple of products a full days wages of several employees were spent. We are really nipping fraud and waste...

A game of kick the can

A game of kick the can by Matthew Edward Hayward on Monday, September 3, 2012   We are driven by fear and the outcome is a game of kick the can. We never work toward a better future but instead are always focused on negativity and trying to prevent things from getting too much worse in the short run. There seems to be no long run approach for good government and freedom, but there is a long run approach to ruin our country, continue voting the lesser of evils. How can we ever get head if we find ourselves always settling for a loss of ground, a loss of liberty? Does anyone understand the concept of a painful withdrawal being necessary for recovery?  If we continue trying to avoid the pain of recovery and getting on the right path, we will continue to suffer and follow the course of destruction. “"Today Americans would be outraged if U.N. troops entered Los Angeles to restore order; tomorrow they will be grateful! This is especially true if the...

'USA' the RNC & fascism

'USA' the RNC & fascism by Matthew Edward Hayward on Sunday, September 2, 2012   While looking forward to traveling to one of my dream destinations, the sunny State of Florida, I learned of Isaac, a hurricane approaching Tampa. Little did I know that Hurricane Isaac was less of a concern than the dark clouds looming over the Republican National Convention. Day 1 of the convention was canceled because of Isaac. Day two quickly ended for the grass roots and any hope of unity after the disenfranchisement of the Maine delegation and authoritarian passage of the new rules. The new rules made it so Ron Paul could not be nominated and consolidated all power to RNC leadership giving them the ability to change the rules to whatever they want, whenever they want. Tyranny reigned supreme as a voice vote was taken, a vote that apparently was nothing more than political theater. As the chair announced the results, there were calls for division (a vote coun...
