By Matthew Hayward  The government must cease attacking the liberties of the American people and Washingtonians.  The direct and indirect use of force to coerce and threaten people's livelihoods, attacking our liberties and pursuit of happiness, is becoming an act of war against the people. Non-compliance is an appropriate response; it is both justified and a position worthy of self-defense. "As long as it is admitted that the law may be diverted from its true purpose — that it may violate property instead of protecting it — then everyone will want to participate in making the law, either to protect himself against plunder or to use it for plunder."

To everyone who is afraid to lose their job, afraid to lose their benefits, or afraid to lose unemployment funds: my heart goes out to you, but please consider the following. I believe your fear is based on a false premise. You believe that when the October 18 deadline arrives, the state will follow through. I don't believe people will be fired if everyone stands their ground. In fact, the only hope we have for success is if everyone stands their ground. I believe we have already won, and the only way we can lose is if we surrender. I have been far more understanding, empathic and reasonable with COVID fear pushers than most people I know that share my sentiments, probably more reasonable than was warranted. I have given many a pass based on the premise that people believe what they are doing is well-intended and noble. In fact, I still believe that to be true, but I am no longer willing to continue the same respect I have given in the past. It is truly time to start standing our ground before it's too late. Any businesses that gives preference to people who are vaccinated for COVID19 will be boycotted. That includes airlines and sporting events. Sometimes fighting for freedom isn't convenient.
