"Obama’s 39 percent showing among white voters matched the percentage that Bill Clinton received in 1992" While white voters cross party lines, nonwhites tend not to. Only 11% of the Republican party is considered nonwhite. Does that make them racist, or is it something else, maybe reverse racism? I believe it means nonwhites feel they will benefit from Democrats being elected to office?
It’s all about racism one way or another. I would argue that it is less about negative racism and more about positive racism. By that I mean, a message exists in our society that Democrats will tweak the laws and regulations to treat people differently based on the color of their skin, sexual orientation, etc.; while Republicans think everyone should be treated equally under the law. Why should any race/color/sex of people benefit from a political party that is just?
This being the case, why would anyone who perceives themselves having an opportunity to be subsidized, give up that opportunity by voting for a party that believes we should all be treated equally? Republicans are fighting a losing battle based on morality, charity, and selflessness. Democrats have the upper hand appealing to the greater electorate by promising special treatment to everyone at the cost of everyone else.
“The Choice Before Us:
This question of legal plunder must be settled once and for all, and there are only three ways to settle it:
1. The few plunder the many.
2. Everybody plunders everybody.
3. Nobody plunders anybody.”
