Who would put a political bumper sticker on their car that…

Who would put a political bumper sticker on their car that did not have knowledge about the candidate or issue represented? Who is motivated and willing enough to put a candidate’s bumper sticker on their car while at the same time being ignorant about what the candidate has done or has not done? I do not mean to use the word “ignorant” in a derogatory sense, but as it is defined: “lacking knowledge or information as to a particular subject or fact.”

I’ve seen more and more Obama 2012 bumper stickers on cars lately. Every time I see one, I can’t help but think, WHY why would you put that sticker on your car? Though I did not vote for or support Obama in 2008, I do not blame people who did; I get it. (I voted 3rd party) I fail to understand how anyone who supported Obama in 2008 could support him in 2012. Looking at policy actions and taking into account political theater, it would logically follow that 2004 Bush supporters would be Obama’s 2012 base.

The logic and reasoning behind a person who supported Obama in 2008 supporting Obama in 2012 are either based on fear and ignorance, or people are suffering from cognitive dissonance, also known as compartmentalized thinking. It is a combination of the three. There is the most simple fear of party politics, but that fear is based on cognitive dissonance; we all know that regardless of what party is in power, the militarism and loss of liberty and legislation to benefit the banks will continue.  This state of mind, blocking out disturbing facts, can be quite powerful, especially when so many people want things to change. Often the desire is so powerful people start to believe things might actually change this time.

While most people who supported Obama in 2008 wanted to end the wars, torturing, bank bailouts, and infringement on our civil liberties, i.e., the warrantless wiretapping, the Patriot Act, and so on, Obama continued and increased all of these matters to the point of creating a hit list for assassinations, including American citizens and defended the concept of “thought crimes” similar to the movie, Minority Report. While Bush went to war without a declaration, he did get Congress’s consent by default of a resolution to authorize force. Obama unilaterally authorized a military attack in Libya. But I do not wish to go point by point through Obama’s lies and or failed promises. That said, I will note that Obama once said:

“The President does not have power under the Constitution to unilaterally authorize a military attack in a situation that does not involve stopping an actual or imminent threat to the nation.” DEC 20th 2007.

I want to point out the fact that Glenn Greenwald, Daniel Ellsberg,  Ralph Nader, Dennis Kucinich, Amy Goodman, Noam Chomsky, and many other respected voices on the Left have completely destroyed Obama; there is no need for me to do it again. Rachel Maddow’s show “Obama’s Preventive and Indefinite Detention” is one of my all-time favorites. All that said, some of these critics and many Left-wing talking heads that have made mention of some or all of these faults fall back and ask their viewers and listeners to go ahead and vote for Obama anyway.

The tactics used to rally the Left behind Obama range from resorting to ad-hominem attacks like “Tea Baggers” and “Republican.” In contrast, others focus on the Republicans standing in the way of Obama and the Democrats from getting anything done. It is often said that the Republicans want to see the country fail so they can blame and beat Obama,  “Obstructionists,” they cry. Then they often point to the fact that Obama did not create this economic crisis; Bush and the Republicans did. (Once upon a time, they also brought up the fact that Obama did not get us into Iraq, several bombings of new countries later, they tend to leave that one alone.) Long story short, when you get into the manus, Obama resigned the Patriot Act, regularly supports drone bombings, assassinations, a massive expansion of privacy invasion, and bails out the 1%. There is no defense for his sins; there is no amount of changing the subject and shifting the issues that can hide the fact that Obama is a corporatist and a globalist that has no regard or respect for the United States Constitution. (Much like Bush and 99% of the 1%)

“Mr.William Daley from JP Morgan Chase as White House Chief of Staff. Mr. Gene Sperling from the Goldman Sachs payroll to be director of the National Economic Council. Eileen Rominger from Goldman Sachs named director of the SEC's Investment Management division. Even the National Security Advisor, Thomas Donilon, was executive vice president for law and policy at the disgraced Fannie Mae after serving as a corporate lobbyist with O'Melveny & Roberts. The keystone of the business friendly team was put in place on Friday. General Electric Chairman and CEO Jeffrey Immelt will serve as chair of the president's Council on Jobs and Competitiveness.”

Just how tied in with Wall Street is the Obama administration?

Grassroots Revolt Against GOP Elitism

By Matthew Hayward In the complex arena of political strategy, even those who occupy the highest echelons of power can falter, demonstrating a profound disconnect between their strategic intentions and operational execution. The recent failure to secure the endorsement for their preferred candidate, Dave Reichert, is not merely a setback; it is a revealing exposĂ© of the grave strategic missteps at the heart of the Republican party's establishment in Washington State. These seasoned campaigners, these stewards of conservative strategy, have evidently underestimated the critical importance of grassroots engagement. While I acknowledge the logic behind promoting an established politician strategically positioned geographically and perceived as moderate in our swing state—a strategy driven by considerations of electability, which admittedly has its merits—the incessant focus on this argument and complete lack of any meaningful engagement and education has alienated the grassroots yet a...

Could Today Be the Cheapest Price for Bitcoin Ever Again? Here’s Why

By: Matthew Hayward Current price  Nov 10, 2024 76.72K 80.43K Is Now the Time to Buy Bitcoin? Bitcoin has come a long way since its early days as a niche digital asset. Today, as we enter another phase in its established four-year cycle , Bitcoin may be at a historic high, but it could soon become the new baseline price. This cycle, which has repeatedly shown Bitcoin’s resilience and long-term growth potential, suggests that the current price might be the lowest we’ll see again. While recent political shifts, including Donald Trump’s landslide election victory, have added new momentum and support for Bitcoin, the timing within the cycle itself makes this an ideal moment to consider buying. A Political Shift: From Anti-Crypto to Pro-Crypto For years, Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies have faced an uphill battle against a U.S. government determined to restrict and control their growth. This opposition was largely led by Gary Gensler, who waged an outright war against crypto from hi...

When the Census Goes Beyond the Constitution

By Matthew Hayward The Census: From Counting People to Collecting Control The Constitution established the census as a straightforward tool for representation—nothing more, nothing less. Article I, Section 2 mandates an enumeration every ten years to determine how many representatives each state is allotted. That’s it. Simple. Effective. Proportional representation was the goal, and the census was designed to achieve it. So how did we end up here—with government agents asking about the number of bathrooms in our homes, our ethnic identities, and everything in between? This is the creeping hand of central planning at work. What began as a tool to empower individual representation has been twisted into a mechanism to empower bureaucrats, planners, and those who believe they know better than free individuals how to run their own lives. Central Planning: The False Promise of Data The justification for prying into the most intimate details of our lives is always the same: “We need the ...
